Homeowners

How Hancock Claims helps homeowners get back to what matters most.

A home represents the most significant investment many families will ever make. When your home suffers damage from a natural disaster or significant weather event, you will want trusted industry professionals promptly and accurately handling your claim. At Hancock Claims Consultants, we’re proud to assist homeowners and insurers with expertise and support during these critical events.

The following provides you with an overview of the property claims process when Hancock Claims is providing inspection services.

Submit an Insurance Claim

Contact your property insurance company as soon as possible to start the claim process. Your insurer will initiate their specific process for handling your claim and engage Hancock Claims as appropriate. Scheduling your inspection will be coordinated by either your insurance company or Hancock Claims.

Schedule your on-site inspection

Either a representative from your carrier or Hancock Claims will reach out to you to find a convenient time to visit your home. You may be asked to provide available dates and times that work for you, but Hancock offers an easy process to reschedule should your circumstances change.

Confirm your appointment with the inspector

The day prior to your scheduled appointment, the Hancock inspector will call to confirm with you. This serves as both a reminder for you, the homeowner, as well as assures that the inspector will be able to access your property.

Meet your on-site Hancock Claims Inspector

Your Hancock Claims Inspector will arrive wearing an official Hancock shirt and badge. The insurance company’s adjuster may also be present. If the interior is part of the inspection, you or a representative will need to provide access. If you are present, your inspector will let you know when they have finished the inspection.

Wait to hear a decision from your insurance company's adjuster

The Hancock inspection team will forward their report to your claim adjuster and they will make any coverage decision. You may check on the status of your claim with your insurance company.
